Temporomandibular Joint Disorder can present in several ways including jaw pain, locking, clicking, headaches, ear pain/tinnitus, tooth pain and difficulty with speech/swallowing. Varying causes can include overuse, posture, clenching, grinding, stress and dental work.

A TMJ massage focuses on the muscles of the jaw, ear, head and neck. It will involve massage to the scalp, face and outside of the cheek and may include intra-oral work to reach deeper tissues. If intra-oral work is indicated, the therapist will wear sterile gloves. As part of a longer session, this treatment can also include all or part of a full-body massage.

Kieran attended Algonquin College and graduated the Registered Massage Therapist program in 2015. Preceding this, he also studied at “l’Academie de Massage et Orthotherapie” and received his certificate as an Orthotherapist in 2011. Having been always interested in movement in his youth (gymnastics and breakdancing), he decided to become a Registered Massage Therapist to be able to learn more about the human body’s anatomy and musculoskeletal function. Kieran is fluent in both french and english having studied massage therapy in Ontario and Quebec.

Kieran is passionate about having the opportunity to work closely with clients to help identify their needs and move towards their goals is the driving force behind his treatments. Addressing clientele needs in a holistic manner in hopes of help them to achieve the results desired.

Kieran enjoys working with the deep tissues of the body and does so with Ashiatsu (barefoot massage) as well as more traditional Swedish massage techniques. Some of his other focuses are performing pre- and post-natal treatments, helping others to alleviate chronic headaches, as well as TMJ release for his clients to find relief from dysfunctions which are presented in his practice.

In his spare time, Kieran enjoys staying active and maintaining his strength and flexibility through regular exercise and stretching. He also is an avid multimedia artist and spends much of his time drawing and working on developing his creative skills.

Andrew is a RMT and founder of Athletic Kneads. He graduated from the International Academy of Massage in 2020. Being an athlete and working with athletes all his life he has seen first hand the benefits that massage therapy can have on injuries and maintaining your body’s functions and ranges of motion. Andrew focuses on working with athletes to improve mobility and relieve pain and stress cause by both sports and daily activities. When Andrew is not working he enjoys being around friends, playing golf, hockey, softball, and cycling.

Wensley graduated from the massage therapy program at Algonquin College in early 2025 and was Registered with the CMTO in December of 2025. He also has worked in Quebec as a massage therapist for the past 7 years. Wensley became a RMT because he enjoys helping others and seeing his expertise and skills applied to help someone is a wonderful feeling. Witnessing improvement in a client’s quality of life and connecting with people daily are some of his favorite things about being an RMT. Wensley’s focus while treating are Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation and passive techniques. Together these techniques maintain extensibility of the tissue and introduce the nervous system to a para sympathetic state. Please don’t hesitate to ask him about these techniques and explain them to you. When he is not working Wensley has been working on his pull up technique and strength. He also enjoys ice skating, roller blading and cycling. When he isn’t being as active drawing digital paintings and going to anime and comic conventions are some of the things he likes to do.
